Thanks to Friends of Kpelezo, these three boys graduated with high honors from Ve Senior High School (VESEC). We had high expectations for these boys based on teacher recommendations and their performance in junior high school, but our expectations were far exceeded by their achievements. On our return to Ghana in 2015, we visited the boys at their school. They greeted us warmly in fluent English. We were almost moved to tears hearing about each of their various accomplishments.
The following is a brief description of the three remaining students who will continue at Ve Senior High School:

Anyormi Delight
Delight is 21 years old and, though she graduated from junior high school in 2012, she has never abandoned her dream of going to high school. With funding from Friends of Kpelezo, she will finally be able to continue her education.
Delight wants to become a trained nurse. She does not want to depend on others for support. She wants to earn enough money so that she can help her three younger brothers pay for high school.
Delight's name is appropriate - she is a charming and friendly young woman, eager to help when asked. She is very mature for her age and we are confident that she will do well at Ve Senior High School.

Kanyagu Bright
Bright has finished his second year of Senior High School in the nearby city of Hohoe. He nearly had to go home in the middle of his first year because his family could not afford the school fees. However, local District Assemblyman Delali Agbodza promised him that staying at school would be the better choice and that he would try to get financial assistance to keep him in school. Bright’s mother lives in Kpelezo and is the sole provider for his three younger siblings. Bright's favorite subject is Government, and he hopes to become a high school teacher in the future.

Sulley Winnifred
Winnie has completed her second year at VESEC. She finished Junior High School at Ve Agbome in 2013, but did not think she could afford to continue her education. But Delali again intervened and encouraged her to return despite the financial difficulty. Winnie believes that she is a natural caretaker like her mother and like Delight, she wants to become a nurse. She explains that when people are hurting or ill, she feels pity for them because she believes that everyone deserves to be healthy and free from fear and worry. She adds with a grin that she likes to talk, and that conversation can help people heal by making them comfortable and entertained. She loves to play handball and volleyball, but her favorite thing to do is to help her classmates and friends when they have difficulties. When she finishes her studies of General Arts at Senior High, she wants to join a church choir because she loves to sing gospel songs. She and her mother prove that it truly takes a village to raise a child. Her mother does everything she can for the young mothers and children in Kpelezo, and Friends of Kpelezo hopes to do the same for Winnie.
